Steve Gaines Tampers With God’s Word – Practices Cunning, Disgraceful, Underhanded Ways

**Note, This is part 1 of our series, Seven Days of Gaines. “For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.” –2 Corinthians 2:17 “We have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in … Read more

Polemics Killed Peter: Is That Why Pastors Don’t Do It?

Nobody likes polemics, I think.  I know I don’t.  I yearn for an ecclesiastic environment where Scripture-abiding preachers serve diligently as shepherds by not only edifying Christ’s sheep with the Word but also fending off the incessant onslaught of wolves seeking to mislead “even the elect if possible.” (Matthew 24:24) Instead, those wolves are not, for … Read more

Charismatic Gullibility, Dr. Michael Brown and Discernment

I am an unashamed Pentecostal/charismatic believer, a lifelong tongues speaker (since Jan. 24, 1972), one of the four principle leaders who served in the Brownsville Revival, the author of an in-depth, scholarly treatment of divine healing, the man who wrote Authentic Fire in response to Pastor John MacArthur’s Strange Fire… Yet I am terribly ashamed … Read more

An Open Letter to Dr. Michael Brown

Dr. Brown, I am sincerely thankful for your work and scholarship in a number of areas. I am particularly thankful for your work propagating a Biblical worldview regarding human sexuality. David Jeremiah, Charismatics, Rabbi, Anoint Donald Trump

An odd mishmash of religious folk gathered together in a steaming pile of ecumenical syncretism to anoint Donald Trump in prayer and blessings – a guy who doesn’t know if he “has ever asked God for forgiveness.” This is a real #facepalm moment for American evangelicalism. David Jeremiah – Southern Baptist Robert Jeffress – Southern … Read more

Okay, Bishop, … Read more

Stupid or Sinister? Seven Ways to Tell the Difference Between Spiritual Dullards and Deviants

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” – Matthew 10:16 Rick Warren is a harmless teddy bear. He truly doesn’t understand why people have a problem with him. He’s just not the sharpest guy, but God has really used him. … Read more

Steven Furtick – Teaching heresy about the walls of Jericho

Then he goes on to preach that coming to church lifts our perspective to be able to see beyond those walls, and that there’s something about “making and effort to get into God’s presence” that will “elevate your perspective” to be able to see past your problems and you will see that

the enemy that you were intimated by, was actually intimidated of you all along.

The Evangelical Counter-Reformation

If you ask the average Evangelical church-goer today what the difference is between Protestantism and Catholicism, you’re likely to get a variety of answers. Some will tell you that Catholics believe in a works salvation, but many won’t really understand what that means. Others may tell you that Catholics worship Mary and Protestants don’t. But the overwhelming majority are likely to have no idea what the difference is, and this is rather disturbing. While many of these people will be able to articulate the Gospel, Catholicism is quickly becoming seen as “just another denomination,” with some strange twists. They are no longer being seen as the counterfeit Church, the ancient enemy of the Gospel that the reformers fought so hard and gave their lives to expose and separate from. The muddying of these waters is not unaccounted for, however, and it comes as no surprise, since today we have so many Evangelicals afraid to speak out against Rome, and fornicating with her in many ways.

The Unbreakable Mark Driscoll
