Paige Patterson Embraces Campbellism, Baptismal Justification, at Chapel

THERE’S MORE TO CONSERVATISM THAN INERRANCY Paige Patterson was instrumental in the so-called Conservative Resurgence in the SBC a generation ago. Along with Paul Pressler and a few other leaders, Patterson championed Biblical inerrancy and used the springboard of Adrian Rogers’ election to the SBC presidency to painfully but successfully begin eradicating the SBC of its non-inerrantists. In … Read more

Heresies: Patripassianism

The heresy of Patripassianism is synonymous with the heresy of modalism, and is called patripassianism from the  Latin patri and passio, meaning “father” and “suffer,” because the belief asserts that Christ was the incarnate God the Father who suffered for our sins. This term is used to describe the heresy in the Western Church, when originally the … Read more

Nabeel Qureshi Redux

“RZIM does not have an official ministry position on the doctrines of the Catholic tradition; RZIM focuses its ministry on evangelism and apologetics and strives to stay true to that vision…” Ravi Zacharias International Ministries Some weeks ago, I wrote a critical article about popular RZIM apologist Nabeel Qureshi. In the article, I criticized Qureshi … Read more

Unbelievable! – Pastor Drops Daughter Off to Work at an Abortion Mill

Watch as a man who calls himself a pastor drops his daughter off to work at an abortion clinic, and then proceeds to make excuses for his actions. He claims that his daughter is grown, and he has no control over her actions, yet he participates in her evil deeds by bringing her there to work. Scriptures say to “take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, rather expose them,” (Eph 5:11). Yet, he is partaking in the plagues of his daughter and trying to rationalize his appalling behavior.

An Open Letter to Daniel Patterson, ERLC Chief of Staff

Editor’s Note: Below is an open letter from a concerned elderly Southern Baptist laywoman. She has written to me several times regarding her growing concerns with the direction of the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission, in particular. The following is a letter that she sent to Daniel Patterson, the Chief … Read more

Karen Swallow Prior Promotes Gay Black Lives Matter Activists

“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14, ESV) ERLC Research Fellow and Liberty University professor Karen Swallow-Prior has repeatedly shown a disregard for biblical holiness in her associations. Whether it is attending a “gay Christian” film festival, partnering with unbelievers … Read more

The Charismatic Delusion and Discernment Dilemma

Jim Bakker. The name says it all. The Background Getting a start on Pat Robertson’s Trinity Broadcasting Network in 1966, Jim Bakker started hosting his own show with wife, Tammy. He showed promise as the producer of a religious variety show, and soon ran off to California to star on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, ran by … Read more

Is Theonomy Compatible with 1689 Federalism?

A question I regularly receive is, “Is theonomy compatible with 1689 Federalism?” The answer, for so many different reasons, is no. This information is inconvenient to the few Reformed Baptists out there who also claim to be theonomists, much to their own confusion. They may be theonomists. But if so, they don’t hold to 1689 … Read more

Faith-Healer Asks For Prayers…For Healing. No. Really.

According to Charisma News, the preeminent faith healer, Benny Hinn, has been admitted to the hospital for shortness of breath and heart-related trouble. In fact, Hinn was in intensive care. He had just come back from a prophecy and healing crusade in Brazil, having spoken to hundreds of thousands of people in eager pursuit of … Read more

The Devil's Old Manifesto: Enter the New Age

So many people have been deceived into believing the lie, and, unfortunately, many will take this lie to their grave. This is exactly where the Devil wants you; he wants you to believe that you are a good person and that you don’t need a savior. He wants you to believe that Christianity is a dark force that tries to keep you from following your “good” heart. He wants you to trust in yourself, rather than in Christ Jesus because he knows that Jesus is the only true path to eternal life.

Evangelicals: Fornicating with the Harlot

There is no doubt that the word “evangelical” doesn’t mean the same thing it used to mean. The word is used to describe almost anyone who says the name “Jesus” these days. Mormons are referred to as Evangelicals, as are Jehova’s Witnesses, and other unbiblical sects like the New Apostolic Reformation. There is even a … Read more

Russell Moore Gets A Head Pat And A Hand Smack From Doug Wilson

We have written previously about Russell Moore’s confusing forays into the Gay-“marriage” debate and the inconsistent, ill-thought out comments that he has made regarding questions of morality and Christians advice. Russell Moore has been nipping at the heels of this issue for a while now, throwing pebbles at the window hard enough to make a sound, … Read more

Rick Patrick and Connect 316: Sewing Up His Own Schism

Editors Note. This was originally blogged on Seth Dunns blog, found HERE and reprinted with permission. Seth has all sorts of excellent thoughts, so check him out. “The most basic question is not what is best, but who shall decide what is best.” ― Thomas Sowell “Upon this rock I will build My church.” Jesus Allow me … Read more

Twitter Empathy and Hashtag Slacktivism

More than one million people — including First Lady, Michelle Obama  — have tweeted the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. But whether they’re helping the roughly 250 schoolgirls kidnapped in Nigeria or hopping on some kind of first-world digital bandwagon depends, frankly, on whom you ask. These stinging words are from a May 8 article in the Washington … Read more
