The Devil's Old Manifesto: Enter the New Age

So many people have been deceived into believing the lie, and, unfortunately, many will take this lie to their grave. This is exactly where the Devil wants you; he wants you to believe that you are a good person and that you don’t need a savior. He wants you to believe that Christianity is a dark force that tries to keep you from following your “good” heart. He wants you to trust in yourself, rather than in Christ Jesus because he knows that Jesus is the only true path to eternal life.

Evangelicals: Fornicating with the Harlot

There is no doubt that the word “evangelical” doesn’t mean the same thing it used to mean. The word is used to describe almost anyone who says the name “Jesus” these days. Mormons are referred to as Evangelicals, as are Jehova’s Witnesses, and other unbiblical sects like the New Apostolic Reformation. There is even a … Read more

Beth Moore's followers don't understand the Gospel. #WhyWeContend

Last week, Beth Moore of Living Proof Ministries declared that it was “hunting season for heretics” in her blog, where she likened a discerning 22 year old wife of a pastor to a witch hunter, and questioned this young lady’s ability to differentiate truth from error.  This young lady sent out a tweet basically calling … Read more

Lifeway has pulled “The Worst Book Ever”….But we found one even worse!

Several days ago, at the beginning of #the15 movement, we posted this article which we asked “Is this the WORST book Lifeway sells?” We were of course referring to  The Mystic Way of Evangelism: A Contemplative Vision for Christian Outreach, by Elaine A. Heath. This book, among other things, told us how we ought to learn … Read more

Disagreeing with God and Ronnie Floyd

“Imagine for a moment that God might manifest His presence in your life in a powerful, unusual – even Supernatural – way. Suppose He were to stand at your side, waiting to infuse your spirit with a fullness beyond your most cherished dreams or imagination. It would be a moment when God seems more real … Read more

Russell Moore Gets A Head Pat And A Hand Smack From Doug Wilson

We have written previously about Russell Moore’s confusing forays into the Gay-“marriage” debate and the inconsistent, ill-thought out comments that he has made regarding questions of morality and Christians advice. Russell Moore has been nipping at the heels of this issue for a while now, throwing pebbles at the window hard enough to make a sound, … Read more

A Blaze of Incredulity

Today, a Facebook friend of mine posted an link to an article with the headline, “NBC News: ‘All Americans Will Be Microchipped In Less Than 3 Years.’” The article likens RFID chips to the Mark of the Beast. Such a comparison is representative of the end-times hysteria that has recently gripped popular culture. In … Read more

Celebrating Sin?

In early January 2013, the National Post reported that “divorce has attained an increasingly celebratory edge of late…High-profile divorce parties are being held in fancy hotel ballrooms usually reserved for nuptials.” The story from the National Post includes a quote from professional divorce party planner, Christine Gallagher. Gallagher, author of the book How to Throw … Read more

Enjoying the Party

“I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” Luke 15:7 Recently, the Pulpit and Pen published an article that was critical of what we feel are dubious salvation statistics coming out of Brewton-Parker College.   In that … Read more

Hitched To A Free Market…

Please excuse me for a moment, as I offer a bit of a political, theological, and cultural commentary. I was going to call this “ranting,” but a friend told me that pastors don’t rant, they proclaim, so these rants proclamations are related, as they all have to do with the same current event at a … Read more

A Response to Joel McDurmon

It’s deer season in Montana, and it’s with no small annoyance I have to come in from the woods and make a rare and brief return to writing on the P&P (now faithfully manned by my contributors) to answer a volley of rebukes sent in my direction by American Vision‘s Joel McDurmon. My regular routine … Read more

Rick Patrick and Connect 316: Sewing Up His Own Schism

Editors Note. This was originally blogged on Seth Dunns blog, found HERE and reprinted with permission. Seth has all sorts of excellent thoughts, so check him out. “The most basic question is not what is best, but who shall decide what is best.” ― Thomas Sowell “Upon this rock I will build My church.” Jesus Allow me … Read more
