Top Ten Pulpit & Pen Posts of 2020

Publisher

There’s no doubt about it. The Year of Censorship wasn’t kind to the Rolex of Polemics Blogs. After a decade of failed boycotts and blacklists by America’s leftwing of evangelicalism, Facebook managed to do what they could not; mute Pulpit & Pen.

And so, our publishing group, The Gideon Knox Group, has been savvily maneuvering past their censors in a year-long game of whack-a-mole. We moved over to our new flagship site, Protestia, because P&P URLs were sufficiently shadow-banned by Facebook. We also launched a number of other publications that are anonymously operated – forgoing our seven-year-long policy of banning anonymous or pseudonymous operations within our organization.

But, such is the necessary strategy when you’re living in an information police state that makes China’s censorship policies look tame by comparison. Eventually, my personal account was even banned permanently from Facebook for the sin of calling Kyle J. Rittenhouse a hero (that’s what you call innocent people who put themselves in the line of fire to protect lives and property from godless barbarian hordes). Then, my Gideon Knox account was permanently banned with zero explanation from Facebook and zero infractions of their “community standards.”

Beginning mid-year, we moth-balled Pulpit & Pen in our whack-a-mole strategy to navigate around their censorship and wrote about that in the article How Our Exclusive Content Section Was Murdered by Big Tech Censorship.

Our financial model had to change from web-ads, which paid our over-head expenses that include writers, designers, admins and editors to a Patreon model to be supported directly by those who believe in our work.

But because Protestia and our other sites are still subject to censorship if we break certain of their Commandments (like calling Bruce Jenner a man) I took P&P out of storage and am now using it as it was originally intended back when it was first called the full title, The Pulpit & Pen of JD Hall. Consider it more like Blog and Mablog than alternative Christian news like Protestia.

In other words, I’m now using P&P for my own personal thoughts and commentary not fit for mainstream publication (according to our fascist, technocrat overlords). Also, Seth Dunn is continuing to use P&P because he’s the type of guy who’s not going to move pews on Sunday morning when the preacher asks and he’s too dang old to be taught any different (and to be fair, he and I are both 39 going on 89).

That said, here are the Top Ten posts of 2020 at P&P…

Happy New Year, my fellow Deplorables. We’ll continue to follow the mission verse of Gideon Knox Group…

What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops (Matthew 10:27).
