New Apostolic Reformation Chooses Michael Brown to Lead Todd Bentley Investigation

News Division

Michael Brown is the go-to guy for charismatic crisis management, for as we have previously discussed, he’s an apologist for the devil. Brown first attacked and shamed Todd Bentley’s abuse victims and whistleblowers last week, and now he’s been selected by New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) leaders to oversee the investigation into Bentley’s homosexuality, polyamory, and drunkenness.

Brown has also routinely claimed there is no such thing as the “New Apostolic Reformation,” which is as bald-faced a lie as Thabiti Anyabwile claiming that there is not “Evangelical Social Justice Movement.” Brown has literally served in institutions whose purpose statements claim to explicitly be a part of the New Apostolic Reformation, and Brown is surrounded by and promotes its most vocal Apostles. In fact, Brown is a member of the U.S. Coalition of Apostolic Leaders, which considers itself a part of the NAR.

And now, NAR leaders have reached out to Brown – who is lent surprising credibility by orthodox Christian leaders like Dr. James White – to help with crisis management after Bentley confessed to most of the accusations against him in a video, which has since been deleted.

Bentley has repeatedly referred to NAR Apostle, Rick Joyner, in self defense, claiming that Joyner was aware of his past misdeeds and was working on restoring him to ministry. Joyner confirmed this in a video, in which he attacked Bentley’s (rightful) accusers, by claiming they were “witches” even while acknowledging their accusations were accurate. Joyner also claimed that despite his fall into sexual sin (again), he should be restored to ministry (again).

Rick Joyner, Michael Brown

Michael Brown is as radical as any of the NAR Apostles, but because of his wicked subtlety and gift of obfuscation (not to mention his support in the broader evangelical community), he is an ideal public relations man for the more explicitly extreme elements of the charismatic movement. He announced today on Facebook that he’s handling the Bentley investigation at the bequest of NAR leaders.

Please note that Brown’s statement again accuses whistleblowers of “gossip, slander, and innuendo.” The one the aforementioned “sins” are directed to is none other than Rick Joyner, Bentley’s chief Apostolic ‘covering.’

The “Body” Brown refers to is the New Apostolic Reformation. There is no other tie or ecclesiastical link between the various leaders implicated by Bentley’s accusers.

Regarding whether or not Bentley is guilty of the accusations against him, he admitted as much in his rambling August 24 video. While vaguely denying “some details” of the accusations against him (he wasn’t clear), Bentley acknowledged he had fallen back into sexual sin, sexting, and a general disqualification from ministry by any orthodox standard.

Our prediction is that Brown will eventually issue a statement that Bentley is disqualified from ministry, but will absolve Rick Joyner and all other New Apostolic Reformation apostles who knew about his sins and chose not to act. He will also lecture discerning Christians about engaging in “slander,” he will attack NAR critics and will shame those victims who bravely came forward.

Brown shut down commenting on his Facebook post because of “false accusations and passing judgments.”
