Beth Moore is releasing a new book and study series called “The Quest”. She offers a glimpse into its purpose with the words, “To foster an adventurer-mentality as royal subjects of royal blood unrecognized by the world but headed to an unshakable kingdom worth the arduous trip”, referencing Acts 14:22. She did not lay the … Read more

Have You Broken Free of Beth Moore?

For years, Beth Moore has bestrode the narrow world of women’s Bible study like a colossus. Her Bible studies are a ubiquitous presence in women’s ministries throughout the evangelical spectrum. Her Living Proof simulcasts are piped into hundreds of churches. Her books permeate the libraries of Southern Baptist Churches. Other popular Christian authors, such as Priscilla Shirer, … Read more

Hillsong & Beth Moore Unite: Using Weak Women To Capture Weak Women (& others)

“so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith.”  2 Timothy 3:8 When the imprisoned, soon-to-be-martyred Paul wrote his final letter to Timothy, effectively passing the mantle of ministry to his young protégé, he warned the young disciple about the imminent persecution that would come “in the last days.” The … Read more

Together Again: Beth Moore & Christine Caine – Outraging the Spirit of Grace?

“And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.”   Matthew 24:11 She promotes contemplative prayer. She teaches the Bible by narcigetical eisegetics. She gets revelations. War Room: A Review by Justin Peters

If you do not know the Kendrick brothers by name, you almost certainly know them by their films: Flywheel (2003),Facing the Giants (2006), Fireproof (2008), and Courageous (2011). Stephen, Alex, and Shannon Kendrick have just released their fifth faith-based film, War Room. War Room, starring popular Bible teachers Priscilla Shirer and Beth Moore, looks like it may well be the most successful of their films to date bringing in $11 million just on its opening weekend; more than triple it’s $3 million production budget.

Given the popularity of Christian themed films and the considerable buzz about this one in particular, my wife, Kathy, and I went to see War Room on the evening of September 3rd so that I could write a review. For those of you who read my review of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s movie, Son of God, you know that I am a bit skeptical of the Christian movie genre as a whole. Nonetheless, I do want to offer what I hope to be a fair review. This review will not touch on every single facet of the movie or even on every theme it presents, but I do hope to address what I believe to be the most important of them.

Less about Moore: A Minimal Facts Case for Breaking Free of Beth Moore

“I want to put a stone in his shoe.  All I want to do is give him something worth thinking about.  I want him to hobble away on a nugget of truth that annoys him in a good way, something he can’t simply ignore because it continues to poke at him.” Greg Koukl Dr. Gary Habermas has … Read more
