Some churches want their members to be Christians. Such seems to be the case with Gracewood Baptist Church in Southhaven, Mississippi. When the church removed the membership of two lesbian lovers after a year of unrepentant sin, the two women complained to the media.
In other news, Mosques want their members to be Muslims.
Shocking, right?
The Bible teaches that unrepentant homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God and should not be considered Christians.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality…will inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:11-12).
Mary Catherine Trollinger, one of the lesbians who met at the church and subsequently began carnal relations, first posted the church’s letter on her Facebook page.
Trollinger was once the College Director of the church’s outreach ministry. She met her sin-partner, Olivia, through the church’s program.
The two lesbians sat down for an interview with their local news affiliate, who summarized the story in the following way…
A same sex couple in Southaven says they were asked to leave their Baptist church because of their sexual preference.
The couple, Mary Catherine Trollinger and her partner Olivia, received what they call an offensive letter about it, and they question why they are now receiving it when the left the church last year.
Of course, the letter states explicitly why they were receiving the letter. It was, as the church said, after a year of unrepentant homosexuality.
The couple had been notified they were not in “good standing” a year ago, and Ms. Trollinger’s parents removed her from the home (which is Biblical, according to 1 Corinthians 5).
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
1 Corinthians 5:11
The lesbians, although throwing a fit in social media and in the press over what is a pretty standard type of basic church discipline, insist that they are still Christians and are now attending a “good church.”
Somewhere, a butch-haired lady pastor in a rainbow-splattered preaching stole has two more lesbians in the audience.
Ms. Trollinger told the press, “Be honest with yourself and know that God’s not mad at you, everyone has their own relationship with Jesus.”
