A Prior Conviction: A Minimal Facts Case for the ERLC’s Progressivism as Demonstrated by Its Association with Karen Swallow Prior

Some months ago, I authored a post about Beth Moore which readers could use to lead their friends out from under the influence of that popular but disturbing author. I did not present a detailed argument about why Beth Moore should be avoided, rather I listed a number of minimal facts which indicated that Beth … Read more

Karen Swallow Prior: Research Fellow at ERLC

“I wish we had 1,000 more Karen Swallow Priors in evangelicalism today. She models convictional kindness. She doesn’t give any ground, but she also doesn’t see people who disagree with her as her enemy.” – Russell Moore (link) Russell Moore thinks we need 1,000 more Karen Swallow Priors in evangelicalism today. He must think so, … Read more

The ERLC announced today that they have hired Steven Harris as the “Director of Advocacy” for the entity’s Washington DC office. He will also analyze legislation and produce content for ERLC … Read more

The Problem With the ERLC and Interfaith Coalitions

Ecumenical movements within the Church and those who propagate them should be considered with caution. One prominent propagator of such movements is the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention (ERLC). The ERLC has been known to make questionable dives into the waters of faith-based alliances with organizations that hold to completely different sets of doctrinal beliefs than do Bible-believing Southern Baptists. It has rightly been criticized by concerned Christians for doing so. Unfortunately, critics of the ERLC and similar organizations are often accused of slandering people of faith, causing division, rejecting diversity, or even spreading hate. Questions, not unlike the trap questions asked of Jesus by Jewish leaders during the first century, are thrown at the critics of ecumenism in attempts to discredit their concerned stances. Many times, these questions are nothing more than straw-men tactics that shown no real concern the specific issue at hand. When responding to such questions, critics of unhealthy ecumenism should strive to respond with sound logic and thoughtful biblical exegesis. Consider the following admonishments from the Apostle Paul in light of notable activities of the ERLC.

A Great Commission Suggestion: Pink Slip the ERLC (not by Dave Miller)

It isn’t personal, its business! Great Commission business.  I think it is time that the SBC de-funds the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and gives those funds to the IMB to increase our missionary force around the world. I know that Russell Moore is one of the bogeymen of the Baptist right.  They disdain him because … Read more

You’ve been in the pipeline, filling in time…” Roger Waters Is this video blog, Pulpit and Pen Editor, Seth Dunn, explains the financial incentives behind the widespread acceptance of Charismania and the promotion of racial reconciliation in … Read more

ERLC Employee Warns Us, “Don’t Start a Watchdog Blog. Seriously. Don’t Ever.”

The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) is one of the more growingly disconcerting entities of the Southern Baptist Convention because of what appears to be a social progressivism coming from its director, Dr. Russell Moore. In recent years, Moore has pushed for amnesty for illegal aliens (going so far as to call Jesus an “illegal immigrant”), racial justice … Read more

Russell Moore’s ERLC: Change Agents of the United Nations

It is no doubt that Russell Moore has worked his way up to the top of the largest Protestant denomination in the world, only to promote ecumenism and UN-friendly ideas through the use of his position within the Church. But there is more to it. The Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission as a whole is … Read more

New Age False Teacher, David Wilcock, Twists Matthew 6:22

David Wilcock, a well known New Age lecturer who claims to be the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce, who has a huge following, regularly twists Scripture to make it sound like it means something that it has absolutely nothing to do with. In this video, Wilcock takes the passage out of Matthew Chapter 6, (apparently referencing … Read more

Why I’m Done Reporting on LC

In the Modern Day Downgrade: A Call for Repentance to Southern Baptists and Other Evangelicals that I delivered at the 2013 Reformation Montana conference, I mentioned what I’ve since come to call ‘Joe Aguillard’s Final Solution.’ In that message in May of last year, I asserted that Joe Aguillard presented a “false flag” of a … Read more

From Roe to Butler

The beginning of this week marked half a year since President-elect Trump escaped a bullet by the skin of his ear, two weeks until his inauguration, and four years since, as some liturgical calendars might have it, the twelfth day of Christmas gave us thousands of rioters a-rioting. When political crimes are committed by civilians, … Read more

“Just Asking” Accusations

I miss the days when controversies were nailed to church doors, and I wasn’t even alive back then. Such debates were public, but the filter of localization ensured that only the most critical issues would go worldwide—such as Luther’s reformation. While I would have disagreed with the aged Luther on the most recent hot topic, … Read more
