Russell Moore is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), a progressive-liberal social justice organization that lately has been shaming pastors for keeping their churches open. Moore is a communitarian and former Democratic activist who once said he wishes his wife was more like Hillary Clinton. Moore has partnered the ERLC with the George Soros Evangelical Immigration Table, and now he’s begging the government to release immigrants because of coronavirus.
The Capstone Report writes…
In a letter from the Evangelical Immigration Table signed by Russell Moore on behalf of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), Evangelical Elites urged the release of illegal immigrants in detention and the use of alternatives.
“In the interest of public health – for these detainees, for the staff of these facilities and for the general public – we encourage you to utilize alternatives to detention for individuals who do not pose a threat to public safety,” the letter said.
The Evangelical Elites argued for placing many illegals with sponsoring churches and family members as an alternative to detention.
“We encourage you to partner with churches and community organizations to ensure that individuals who are released can find safe accommodations in which to ‘shelter in place’ for as long as such practices are advised,” the Evangelical Immigration table wrote.
While Americans are locked down, Evangelical Elites want illegals unlocked.”
It is worth noting that although vaccines for coronavirus do not yet exist, there are ethical vaccines that prevent major pandemic viruses that would threaten, if not cripple, American healthcare infrastructure during a time that the system is already burdened.
According to the SMA, “Legal immigrants and refugees are required to have a medical examination for migration to the United States, while they are still overseas. This is the responsibility of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which provide instructions to the Panel Physicians who conduct the medical exams. The procedure consists of a physical examination, an evaluation (skin test/chest x-ray examination) for tuberculosis (TB), and blood test for syphilis. Requirements for vaccination are based on recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.”
However, some estimate that close to 95% of illegal immigrants do not have vaccinations required by the CDC and, of course, 100% of illegal immigrants have not submitted to medical clearance provided by the CDC. Their uncontested release would not be contingent upon undergoing the usual immigration medical checks.
Russell Moore and his evangelical intelligentsia friends are being dangerously irresponsible during a time of medical crisis.
