Star Wars Director Claims Gay ‘Representation’ in Upcoming Episode IX

News Division

What would make the epic Star Wars saga even better in the upcoming final installment, known as Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker? Well, a baby Yoda would be nice, like in The Mandalorian. We would also settle for a baby Wookie. Heck, we would take some more random Ewoks. But, no. They’re going to give us gays, as though the Mos Eisley Cantina wasn’t queer enough already.

Yippee.

As we reported back in October, Star Wars has already made a gay couple in their Star Wars Resistance animated series. However, the Star Wars director for Epixode IX – which will be released in two weeks – JJ Abrams claims that it was “important” to him that the gay ‘community’ be represented in the new film, claiming to Variety magazine, “in the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film.

There is some speculation that the gay couple will be Finn and Poe, who seem to have had an awfully strange bond in Episode VII and VIII.

Abrams says…

“That relationship to me is a far deeper one than a romantic one. It is a deep bond that these two have, not just because of the trial by fire in which they met, but also because of their willingness to be as intimate as they are, as afraid as they, as unsure as they are, and still be bold, and still be daring and brave.”

Regardless of who is gay in the upcoming film, according to Abrams there will be at least some “representation” of the sexually deviant behavior.
