Christians, You Have Nobody to Blame But Yourselves

Do you really expect the lost to have any semblance of Godly compassion towards human life? They can’t, they’re lost. This isn’t to say that all non-Christians are murderers, however, it is to say that only Christians believe that the unborn are human beings, made in the image of God, knit together by Him in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). And it is only upon this foundation that we can objectively argue that life is sacred, to be preserved, respected, and protected. All other arguments are subjective.

Rejoicing in Christ in a fallen world.

In the wake of recent happenings in the US that greatly affect Christians, some believers may be wondering what this world is coming to. Much of this has come as a shock to many, especially the “cultural Christian” segment, or the new religious right. After the supreme court ruling declaring it illegal for states to ban same-sex marriage, many emotions including disappointment, shock, and anger and even hatred spread throughout the dissenting population. While grieving over sin is both healthy, and righteous (Luke 6:25), we need to remember one thing–God is sovereign over all.

So while we can be disappointed, we can have opinions, we can talk, pray and express our thoughts and feelings, let’s not forget who we represent, and who we are to rejoice in–Jesus Christ.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28

Willy Rice's Sob Story: Ben Carson Sacrificed for the Sake of Unity

If you’ve been following Southern Baptist news, you know about the uproar that was cast by the SBC inviting Seventh Day Adventist, Dr. Ben Carson, to speak at the 2015 Pastor’s Conference. Aside from the serious theological differences that sets Southern Baptists apart from Seventh Day Adventists, it was also widely seen as an endorsement of a political candidate. In the wake of this massive outcry, a follow-up opinion was written at SBC Voices blog by Dave Matthews, basically stating that he disagreed with decision to invite Carson, but since it’s already done, for the sake of avoiding bad press, we should just shut up about it, accept it, and have lunch together.

From Bad to Jonathan Howe: Baptist Press Covers for New Baptist CEO.

Last week, the Southern Baptist Convention suffered the embarrassment of learning that the interim CEO of its Executive Committee, Willie McLaurin, was a fraud. The church is Woodmont Baptist in Nashville. The replacment is … Read more

Elevation Worship: Manslaughter or Murder

Do you know the difference between first degree murder and second degree murder? Premediation. In other words, it’s a more serious crime to plan to kill someone and carry through with that plan than to deliberately kill someone in the heat of the moment. Do you know the difference between murder and manslaughter? Intent. It’s … Read more

To Jackie Hill Perry: God Wants Christians Straight

Dear Jackie, My friends at Protestia recently published yet another critical article about you. Their latest critique is about the recent statement you made about scripture and sexual orientation: “It can sound righteous to say ‘God wants you to be straight,’ but I’ve yet to read anything in the 66 books of the scriptures that implies that. … Read more

Arizona Pastor Blows the Whistle on Andy Stanley

At this point, let’s not deceive ourselves into thinking that Andy Stanley’s churches are populated by regenerate, bible-beliving Christians. In 2016, after Andy Stanley’s derisive comments about small churches stirred up controversy, I published an open letter at this website urging whatever believers were left at North Point ministries to leave. In 2017, I published … Read more

Raising Your Hands with Brandon Lake

On a recent Sunday at a Southern Baptist Church, I was exposed to the song Gratitude by Brandon Lake. I was unfamiliar with both the song and the artist but the lyrics betrayed Lake’s Pentecostal background in short time. Gratitude is a song about the singer’s inability to adequately express his appreciation to God. That’s … Read more

SBC 2021: Merritt, Greear, Floyd and Other Men I Doubt are Saved
