At Tuesday night’s basketball game a young NBA fan danced with a Clipper’s shirt. When the camera focused on him, he quickly exchanged the shirt and revealed a pro-Hong-Kong message.
The shirt read: “Fight for Freedom, Stand with Hong Kong.”
This message was the one that started the NBA/China controversy. Daryl Morey, a general manager for the Houston Rockets, shared an image on twitter with the words. He later walked back his statement and deleted the tweet to appease China.
