If Democrats had their way, they would enforce no immigration laws and let criminals invade the country with no legal or physical hurdle, while at the same time stealing constitutionally-protected firearms from law-abiding Citizens. It’s important to remember that while mass shootings are tragic, their death toll does not compare to that caused by illegal immigration.
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, U.S. Democratic presidential primary candidate, Kamala Harris said that if elected, she will ban all AR-15 rifles and require that they be “bought back” by the United States government.
The U.S. government does not sell rifles to the public, so a “buy-back” refers to demanding Citizens give their firearms to government authorities under the threat of fines, imprisonment, or death.
Beto O’Rourke threatened explicitly to take away Americans’ sporting rifles.
However, on Constitution Day, we should be reminded that abuses of the Second Amendment by Citizens do not compare, in terms of casualty rate committed by non-Citizens who are in our nation illegally.
Studies indicate that over the course of the last 8 years, there have been 600 (or so) killed by “mass shootings” in the United States.
However, the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that in that same time period, more than 215,000 criminal aliens were booked into Texas jails and charged with 566,000 offenses. This figure includes 1,167 homicides and 6,098 sexual assaults. That is Texas alone.
In 2018, the left-leaning Mother Jones magazine reported a total of 12 mass shootings that killed 80 people.
However, in 2018, there were approximately 18 thousand homicides, with upwards of one-quarter committed by illegal immigrants (this figure does not account for other violent crime, like armed robbery or rape).
In fact, there are whole organizations dedicated to tracking victims of violent crime committed by illegal aliens in America.
Please be informed on this issue, and peruse the statistics for yourself. Although “mass shooting” can be defined differently by different organizations, and even though crime-tracking software for a precise number of illegal alien-committed crime, there is no doubt that deaths caused by a lacking border wall are monumentally higher than that of mass shootings.
Let’s focus on solving the problem of violence in a way that doesn’t violate the United States Constitution.
