An Open Letter to Erick Erickson re: Beth Moore

Hi Erick, You have a great website, The Resurgent (I link it to show you courtesy, as I usually don’t link lesser-known blog sites). Truthfully though, I’ve never listened to your radio show. I’m more of a Steve Deace kind of guy (no offense). I admire a man who knows his theology well enough to … Read more

Ronnie Floyd: One more year as pope of SBC thanks to J.D. Greear

The Baptist Press revealed yesterday that Pastor J.D. Greear of Summit Church, Raleigh-Durham, NC, has nominated current pope president of the Southern Baptist Convention, Ronnie Floyd, to a second term. This comes as no surprise, as Floyd is adored by the neo-evangelical leadership who have now mainstreamed the denomination. One of the problems with this neo-evangelicalism is that many of them are solid bible teachers, and are solid in their doctrinal beliefs, but outside of the pulpit is where they break down. They see no problem associating with, and promoting emergent leaders such as Rick Warren, and they tend to blindly support each other, as I reported before, without any accountability, in order to re-elect and maintain leadership positions within the SBC. This appears to be the same thing here.

The Worst Christian of 2023

This entry is part 1 of 11 in the series Worst Christian of the Year

Who is the worst Christian of 2023? On the surface, this seems like a foolish or even pharisaical question. The fact of the matter is that there are none worthy to stand righteous before God except his perfect son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Every believer struggles with sin every day and will continue to do … Read more

Charles the Tree and Andy the Apple

“Obey God and Leave the Consequences to Him” Charles Stanley There is probably no greater insult the child of a revered parent can recieve than “The apple has fallen far from the tree.”. As someone born in the early 1980s, I can think of no preacher more revered than Charles Stanley. For decades, Charles Stanley … Read more

How To View Todd White’s ‘Repentance’ With Biblical Discernment

Todd White, as our polemics resources have chronicled over many years, is one of the most notorious parlor-tricksters, mentalists, and miracle-hustlers in extremist charismania. And starting earlier this week, he has many people convinced from a recent sermon that he’s seen the light and is repentant for teaching a false gospel. HOPE Anyone can be … Read more

John MacArthur: It’s Not How He Said It. It’s What He Said…

John MacArthur was doing “word association,” a tradition for conferences held at Grace Community Church. The moderator, as usual, was Todd Friel of Wretched Radio. Several years ago when Friel said “Steven Furtick,” MacArthur responded “unqualified.” Furtick later sent John MacArthur an expensive package as a gift, which included a copy of his new book, … Read more

Schuller’s ‘Crystal Cathedral’ Re-Opens as a Catholic Church

Nuns get a look at the newly finished 'Christ Cathedral,' once known as "The Crystal Cathedral"

The Crystal Cathedral, best known as the home for a “positive-thinking” gospel that ignored sins and preached happiness, has now re-opened as a Roman Catholic Church. Completed in 1981, the Orange County structure was renown for its beauty and unique design. With more exterior-to-interior glass ratio than any building of comparable size in the United … Read more

How Nationalism Helps Us Understand Holiness

Nationalism is a helpful tool for understanding how Christians should interact with the fallen culture around us, and serves for us as a metaphor for holiness. If believers seek to be sanctified in our Christian walk and be made holy as a response to the Gospel, Nationalism serves as an illustration for that spiritual advancement. … Read more

Commentary: Enough of the Evangelical SJW Twitter Orgy

Self-righteousness is repulsive, and it’s on parade over at Twitter from the accounts of evangelical Social Justice Warriors. If only they could see what we see in their ongoing, endless, self-congratulatory and virtue-signaling back-slaps, they would quit it. It’s as gross as what probably happens at Jonathan Merritt’s house on the weekends. Obviously, we don’t … Read more

Who’s Who of Movers and Shakers in JD Greear’s World of Evangelicalism

In a recent episode of Ask Me Anything, a regular featured segment on Greear’s personal website, he was asked to name those who have most influenced his ministry. The list of names is quite telling, as he admits that Tim Keller, Mark Driscoll, and Rob Bell were instrumental in the early formation of his theology. Founding member of The Gospel Coalition and signer … Read more

An Open Letter to Southern Baptists: You Are in Sin

This is an open letter to Southern Baptists who continue to support the Cooperative Program and fund its grievous errors. That caveat, in italics, is important. I wrote this as an email to a Southern Baptist pastor and I’m making it available as an open letter to all Southern Baptists who spit upon the Bible’s … Read more
