Homosexuals have a millennia-old tradition of angrily marching outside buildings, demanding to be let it. This tradition continues at Brigham Young University.
And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them (Genesis 19:5).
Rioting with rainbow-colored flags, adult novelties, and skinny jeans, the homosexual students a BYU are protesting a policy at the university that frowns upon same-sex romantic relationships. How dare they?
According to HuffPo, “The Utah-based religion of 16-million members worldwide has tried in the last decade to create a more welcoming environment for LGBTQ members, while adhering to its doctrinal opposition of gay marriage. The faith, widely known as the Mormon church, teaches that while being gay is not a sin, engaging in same-sex relationships is against God’s commandments.”
The protest was full of “catastrophizing,” a key component of fragility culture which has been engrained in millennials. Catastrophizing means one views words to be violence, ideas to be dangerous, truth to be hate, standards to be bigotry, facts to be subjective, and emotion to be thought.
Catastrophization has lead many universities to create “safe spaces” for millennials to retreat when there is a conservative speaker visiting campus.
Queer student, Joey Pierson, spoke of sodomy when he said, “I’m tired of feeling so suppressed and not feeling the love that God wants us to feel.”
Of course, God does not want him to feel that kind of thing.
Lesbian student, Caroline McKenzie said, “It’s psychologically damaging…This last Wednesday pretty much destroyed me. It felt like I was drowning again.”
Caloway Williams, another LGBTQ student, called the policy a “slap in the face.”
He added, “I want them to know it’s not OK what they have done. These are people’s lives they are messing with.”
It is unclear how the moral principles of Brigham Young University “slaps” people, psychologically “damages” people, “destroys” people, “drowns” people, or “messes with lives.”
