Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network Promote Transgenderism To Kids in “Transgender Day of Visibility”

Reagan Hall

Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon have promoted transgenderism to their young audiences via social media posts for “Transgender Day of Visibility,” touting slogans such as “just be you” and “it takes courage to live their truth.”

Nickelodeon’s post was met with accusations of grooming and disgust. Cartoon Network, on the other hand, receiving praise from the LGBTQ+ community and its supporters.

Nickelodeon went on to promote their TV show “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling” that features a transgender character, “Rachel.”

Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network are not the first children’s television channels to promote and feature LGBTQ+ characters. Disney’s Pixar released their first lesbian character in the movie “Onward.” Some states, such as Alabama, have pulled PBS’ “Arthur” same-sex wedding scene from their stations. It is more important now than ever to vet what your children are viewing in seemingly harmless cartoons.
