There are lots of imprecatory psalms and even a few imprecatory hymns, but there are few, if any contemporary imprecatory songs.
An imprecatory song is one which invokes judgment, calamity, or curses upon one’s enemies or those perceived as the enemies of God.
This song, All the Wolves, is written, produced, and performed by Billy Foote. It is one of 6 songs on his upcoming album, World Burning Down. The album will be released in January of 2020.
Of this song, Billy writes…
“All the Wolves” is a heavy song. I did not write this song to be funny, flippant, spiteful, or “cutting edge”. The purpose is to bring to light the overwhelming amount of false teaching we find in our “Christian culture” today and remind the church what Scripture says about those who take advantage of God’s people for personal gain.
The prosperity gospel is no gospel at all and has led to too many CEO business-minded men masquerading as pastors. Their love for power, control and fame comes at the expense of the true gospel and has wounded countless souls…. particularly, the most vulnerable. This is not just an American church problem, but we have led the way.
Cindy and I have counted the cost in releasing this song. We have dear friends, who say they are Christians, that do not believe Jesus is the only way or even that there is a hell. We understand we are flying in the face of this culture, this day and time. Scripture tells us Jesus did the same. We also know even those who believe the true gospel may recoil at the words “all the wolves will burn in hell”. Our prayer is that the repetition of those words will birth a sense of sorrow and urgency for the world burning down around us.

Please take time to read what the New Testament says about the false teachers and wolves among us.

2 Peter 2:1-3 “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them – bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed, these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.”
Matthew 7: 15-19 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
