There is much confusion in the aftermath of the Shepherd’s Conference 2019 Q & A Session, especially regarding the embarrassingly blatant, evasive and downright rude behavior of Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. But there shouldn’t be, as there is a wealth of reliable evidence clearly testifying to the fact that Mohler’s associations, as well as his position and public statements on any number of issues stands in stark contrast to his statement of faith – so why was everyone so surprised?
Al Mohler- signer of the ecumenical Manhattan Declaration to link arms with Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy for the sake of cultural renewal.
Al Mohler- council member of the heavily compromised Gospel Coalition.
Al Mohler- who promotes white privilege propaganda at SBTS by offering a Black Leadership Doctor of Ministry degree, focused solely upon the “unique concerns relative to ministering to people of color.” If one is a true Christian: 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Gal 3:28)
Al Mohler- who currently promotes highly compromised Matt Chandler in a promo-video from the SBTS homepage http://www.sbts.edu/. Chandler states that there is nowhere else for Village Church to go but SBTS because “they fit perfectly with where we are theologically.”
Al Mohler- member of the Board of Directors of psychologist James Dobson’s man-centered (and downright Freudian) Focus on the Family.
Al Mohler- who launched The Commonweal Project at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary funded by the Kern Family Foundation as a member of the Oikonomia Network, whose admitted goal is to transform the church into a social action network:
From their own website: (https://thecommonwealproject.org/)▪ com·mon·weal
1. The common good
2. The public good or welfare
3. Archaic A commonwealth or republic.
4. The happiness, health, and safety of all of the people of a community or nation
Al Mohler- who offers SBTS students a course credit to attend Acton University, a conference with a wide range of speakers, and even goes so far as to offer conference scholarships to encourage attendance. The Acton Institute was founded by homosexual-activist turned Roman Catholic priest Robert A. Sirico.
From the Commonweal website:
Acton University & SBTS Course
Lectures on theology, philosophy, ethics, liberty, economics, theology of work, forms of government, social justice, causes of poverty, poverty alleviation, and much more.
Al Mohler- who praised hard left, progressive Russell D. Moore as “a man from Issachar.. with a tested commitment to Christ”as he personally inaugurated him as the 8th president of the ERLC.
Al Mohler- who repented of his biblical view of sexuality by retracting earlier statements regarding sexual-orientation: “I got that wrong” – “I repent of that.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWUORiy-2fY
Al Mohler- who was at the center of the pressure applied on Janet Mefferd when she began publicly investigating the sexual misconduct within C.J. Mahaney’s Sovereign Grace Ministries. From her personal blog: “I was blindsided by two executives from my former radio network’s corporate headquarters on an extended conference call. They told me that they had received a call from “Al Mohler’s office” that expressed “concerns”…knowing that Mohler served on our company’s editorial board, I said, ‘Mohler’s office didn’t call you. You mean Al Mohler called you.’ Neither executive denied it.” It is important to note that Mahaney was a significant financial donor to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. https://janetmefferd.com/2019/02/al-mohlers-incomplete-apology-my-story/
Al Mohler- whose first major initiative as president of SBTS was the establishment of the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, Mission and Church Growth, heartily endorsed by Graham. Billy Graham spoke at Mohler’s inauguration and Mohler chaired the executive committee of the Greater Louisville Billy Graham Crusade. http://www.sbts.edu/bgs/Al Mohler- who has a tribute to the greatness of Billy Graham on the SBTS webpage. http://www.sbts.edu/graham/
Al Mohler- who warned the faculty of SBTS not to sign the Dallas Statement against the social gospel (social justice) under threat of termination. https://pulpitandpen.org/2018/09/12/albert-mohlers-social-justice-blacklist-seeking-clarity-from-the-baptist-press/
Al Mohler- who is widely recognized as a prominent leader in the apostate New Calvinists’ movement http://www.newcalvinist.com/ – Time magazine referred to him as the reigning intellectual of this evangelical movement in the U.S.
Al Mohler- who promoted and interviewed Rod Dreher, author of the anti-Christian book The Benedict Option, a book Dreher openly admits was founded upon the philosophy of Alasdair MacIntyre, a Marxist philosopher/theologian and Aristotelianmoralist. Dreher builds his argument by specifically attributing the moral decline in America to the Reformation (yup! that would be the protestant reformation!), the damage wrought by Sola Scriptura (yup! that would be the battle cry of the reformers!) and the doctrine of the sovereignty of God. Al Mohler, a professed reformed protestant, praised the book as “brilliant.” http://www.albertmohler.com/2017/02/13/benedict-option-conversation-rod-dreher
Anyone “confused” by anything Al Mohler says or does isn’t paying attention. Pay attention and warn others.
“He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8
