Providence is Remarkable
“If phony miracles and false prophecies or fabricated signs and wonders somehow make you feel more confident that God is imminent and personally involved in your life, then you are hanging your confidence on a false premise and you need to delve into the study of divine providence. It’s a simple basic elementary Christian truth.” Phil Johnson.
Divine providence refers to God’s preservation of creation, His cooperation with everything that happens, and His guiding of the universe. Spiritual contentment is truly found when we as believers trust that the holy God who created us knows full well all we need – and that all is under the control of our loving Father.
“I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:10-13
