My Week at the Scottish Rite Hospital

Seth Dunn

“For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.”  Isaiah 64:6

Two Sundays ago, one of my daughters was stricken by a very serious illness.  She is five years old.  Thankfully, doctors were able to identify its cause in time to rectify the situation.  After surgery, she spent a week convalescing in one our region’s finest children’s hospitals: Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta.  Though not owned and operating by the Masonic Lodge, the hospital was so-named because of large financial contributions that Freemasons provided at its founding.  This Masonic History is on full display on the grounds of Scottish Rite. The Masonic Lodge is a demonic cult.

I write this article not to discourage others from supporting the Scottish Rite Hospital and it’s parent organization, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. To the contrary, they do important work helping children and are well-deserving of public support.  I write this post to call attention to all the good works of the Masons, not only in the founding of Scottish Rite Hospital, but in the founding and continuing operation of Shriners Children’s Hospitals throughout the United States (all Shriners are Masons).

In my continuing efforts to expose the darkness of Masonry to the light of Biblical truth, one of the retorts I consistently run in to (even from pastors) is “Masons do so much good.”  Indeed, they do.  However all the good works of man ultimately fall short before a Holy God. Unless a man is found righteous in Christ, he will be condemned to an eternity in Hell.  Righteousness in the Masonic Lodge is condemnation with the Lord. No Mason will stand before God justified because he funded children’s hospitals.  All Masons, however, will stand before God condemned for taking part in the sinful, counterfeit false worship of the Masonic Lodge.

If He so desired, God could immediately and fully heal every sick child in the world by a sheer act of His sovereign will. He will also one day raise from the grave everyone, child and adult, who has ever died of any illness.  What need does God have of the medical chairty of man?  God demands worship on His terms.  Masonry is a perversion of such worship.

To be sure, God had prepared good works for his people that involve medical charity.  God’s people should be on the forefront of caring for children and the indigent.  However, such care is done in the name of Christ for the glory of God.  Masonic charity, like that of Islam and other false religions, curries no favor with the Almighty.  Masonry is evil and God’s people should not be fooled into thinking that the Lodge is godly because it helps people.

Masonry essentially proclaims a false gospel of good works.  Do not be decieved.  The Masons are very proud of their good works.  God is offended by the false worship. Let God’s people hold to the standards of God and not those of men.
