Dr. Sproul Goes To Heaven: Five Videos to Remember Him
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints (Psalm 116:15).
We bid farewell to our elder brother, Dr. Robert Charles (RC) Sproul, as he has taken his final pre-Resurrection breaths to now be present with our Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). His body will soon be sown (1 Corinthians 15:44), and it will rise from the dead.
All of Protestant Christendom should now better understand the words of Paul, who wrote, “I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account”(Philippians 1:23). We would much prefer for Dr. Sproul to remain with us, on our account. But on his account, Sproul has been glorified in the image of Christ and is worshiping at the feet of Whom he preached. Dr. Sproul is at rest, his Spirit is alive, and his soul at peace.
Well done, says Christ, to his faithful servants (Matthew 25:23).
R.C. Sproul was born in 1939 in Pittsburgh. An author of more than 70 books, 300 lecture series, and thousands of sermons, Sproul was used by the Lord to assert Biblical inerrancy, the Doctrines of Grace, and the holiness of God. He was the founder of Ligonier Ministries and held degrees from Westminster (Philadelphia), Pittsburgh-Xenia Seminary, the University of Amsterdam and Whitefield Theological Seminary. He was an intellectual giant, and we owe him our appreciation and commendation.
Death does not quiet the preacher. Do not despair. Mourn, but not as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Perhaps the best way to remember Sproul is to bring to mind his preaching of the Holy Writ. May these 5 videos remind you of the witness of RC Sproul, and might they still testify from the grave.
