The single greatest problem we have in this world is pride and self-exaltation. We do not judge ourselves rightly. We overestimate our worth and we devalue others. In order to lift ourselves up, we must tear others down. That is the problem we face with our national leaders in government. We still have two egomaniacs desiring to run our highest office. One doesn’t want to leave office, and I do believe that he will make a bid for a permanent stay in the white house.
The other two are proving every day that they esteem themselves as being more important than anyone.
Which is why God used a pagan king who was full of pride and God used him as a warning to all people that God’s Word is absolutely true Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.
God is very good at humbling the proud and today we are going to look at a lesson in humility. Paul warns us in Romans 12:3 not to think of ourselves more highly that we ought to, but rather we are to think sober-mindedly with sound judgment.
The Bible is filled with warnings and illustrations against pride, but it is so hard to be humble when you are in power or when you are right. Are you one of those people that are humble and proud of it? Join us as we seek to be humbled by God’s Word about pride!
