The Chuck Colson Center – founded and named after co-author of the ecumenical Evangelicals and Catholics Together – hosted a number of radio programs, including Breakpoint and Breakpoint This Week. The latter is cohosted by Lifeway (a Southern Baptist entity) executive, Ed Stetzer. The announcement for Stetzer’s addition to the highly ecumenical program says, “What happens when you combine the worldview resources of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview with the research and missiology expertise of Lifeway? You get a new and exciting version of “BreakPoint This Week,” a half-hour radio program devoted to culture and mission.”
In Saturday’s edition of Breakpoint This Week, Stetzer had a number of glowing accolades for the Pope of Rome.
- His being a kind, winsome individual
- His consistent desire for the poor…a reminder for us as Christian leaders, a rebuke for all kinds of religious leaders
- We’ve been rebuked by the “social conscience” of Catholics that evangelicals have lacked
We are united in that one, core commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.”
