After threatening to confiscate guns from law-abiding Citizens, Democratic presidential primary candidate, Beto O’Rourke, called the FBI on a Texas Republican representative who tweeted at him, “My AR is ready for you, Robert Francis.”
Robert Francis is Beto’s real name, and the Texas Republican, Briscoe Cain, clearly meant his tweet to mean, “Come and get it.” O’Rourke claimed that the tweet from Cain was a death threat, and he called the FBI.
Then, Beto claimed that Cain’s response proves he should be ‘red-flagged’ and wasn’t stable enough to own a gun.
Get this: In Beto’s view, the only way you’re sane enough to own a gun is you’re willing to give up your right to own a gun.
I posted something similar to Cain’s response on my own Facebook page yesterday, as I was driving through Montana. I had the AR-15 in my pickup at the time because…well…’Murica. Why not?
Little did I know that a Democratic primary candidate would take a “Come and get it” comment as a “death threat.”
Let me put this into perspective, so Democrats can understand this:
A great many Americans will not surrender our firearms under any condition ever.
If a federal, state, or municipal government ever tried to confiscate legally-acquired firearms from such Citizens, the Citizens would tell them no, and disobey that unconstitutional law.
Likewise, if the constitution ever changed to strike the second amendment, we would simply recognize it as one of those times “in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them.” Perhaps you’ve heard that phraseology before.
In the event that Citizens say no to a gun-grab (which we will), politicians must then decide to either stop being tyrannical or to double down on tyranny. This means that the government must – in order to coerce Citizens – be willing to invade homes in order to kill or imprison those who ignore their tyrannical dictates.
In no uncertain terms, when a politician like Beto O’Rourke floats the idea of gun confiscation, he’s threatening the Citizenry with imprisonment or death. What Beto O’Rourke did was issue a death-threat to every Citizen who would refuse to surrender their liberties under the implicit threat of government violence.
Liberals need to understand this one thing…thinking that attempted gun confiscation would prevent violence is the most misguided thought imaginable and would lead to a level of bloodshed that America has never seen.
If you think “gun crime” is bad now, wait until hundreds of thousands of previously heretofore law-abiding Citizens are aiming crosshairs on whatever misguided soul knocks on their door to take away their firearms.
This scenario is not hyperbole. I contend that liberals truly do not know the real America. I genuinely do not know anyone in my community who would voluntarily surrender their AR-15 or be bribed by any amount of money to do so. I do not know any law enforcement officer who would volunteer for the job of collecting them. I do not know any sheriff who would be willing to serve those warrants. I do not know any judge who would issue such warrants. But with God literally as my witness, I know many friends and neighbors who quite literally die to keep their firearms and, in their mind, their liberties.
I am not saying that gang members, drug dealers, and career criminals would fight back against such oppression with force. I am saying, in clearest terms, that doctors, lawyers, educators, pastors, civil servants, little old ladies, nice neighbors, police officers, military veterans, and yoga instructors will fight back against such impression by force.
According to Beto O’Rourke, someone promising to defend themselves against government violence is making a “death-threat.” The only one threatening real, overwhelming, incalculable death are Democrat gun-grabbers who grossly misunderstand the American people.
O’Rourke had said in the forum when asked if he was calling for gun confiscation, said, “I am if it’s a weapon that was designed to kill people on a battlefield. If the high-impact, high-velocity round, when it hits your body, shreds everything inside of your body, because it was designed to do that, so that you would bleed to death on a battlefield and not be able to get up and kill one of our soldiers.”
O’Rourke is mistaken. The AR-15 is not a weapon designed by the military for use in combat. It is a semi-automatic (one-trigger-pull, one bullet) rifle designed for sporting, hunting, and civilian use. The weapon fires like countless other rifles that have been on the civilian market for nearly a century. He is probably confusing the AR-15 rifle with the fully-automatic M16 or M4 carbine, which is a battle-grade military-issue weapon which is not readily available to the public.
However, it would be wise – considering a prominent presidential candidate is calling for the revocation of Constitutional liberties – for Citizens to legally acquire as many battle grade rifles as possible. They might be needed.
