What kind of people would elect bitter grown-up-children? Or worse: anti-Americans who want to see the nation and its allies destroyed? A confused people, to be sure.
Some Democrat-dominated corners of our nation now seem willing to elect anyone, so long as they are neither white, nor male, nor conservative. Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are living proof.
Rashida Tlaib’s Stunt Flops
This week, congresswomen Rashida Tlaib (MI) and Ilhan Omar (MN) “shunned a bipartisan congressional delegation to Israel” so they could instead travel independently to to meet with an antisemitic protest organization, Mifta.
Israel prohibited Tlaib and Omar from entering the country. Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri explained:
“… it is inconceivable that anyone who wishes to harm the State of Israel will be allowed.”
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cited Tlaib and Omar’s support of the anti-Israeli Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement as reason for blocking their entry.
For reference, the BDS movement is widely unpopular in the United States. Twenty-seven states have passed anti-BDS measures, and in July 2019, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan resolution denouncing the BDS movement.
No One is Fooled by Tlaib’s Anti-Semitic Agenda
Rashida Tlaib naturally tried to cast herself as a victim of Israel’s policy. She said she had intended to see her 90-year-old grandmother “potentially for the last time.”
Townhall’s Katie Pavlich was quick to caution: Don’t be fooled, Omar and Tlaib “maliciously set up” the Israel ban. The truth of this assessment was born out when Israel called Tlaib’s bluff and offered her a “humanitarian exemption” from its normal policy, on the condition that she not use the trip as an opportunity to promote the antisemitic BDS agenda. Tlaib declined the offer.
Hilarity Ensues
In 2019, President Donald Trump may be a more reliable source of news than the legacy networks. Here’s Donald Trump’s take on the story:
Rep. Tlaib wrote a letter to Israeli officials desperately wanting to visit her grandmother. Permission was quickly granted, whereupon Tlaib obnoxiously turned the approval down, a complete setup. The only real winner here is Tlaib’s grandmother. She doesn’t have to see her now!
To this low blow, Trump added:
Like it or not, Tlaib and Omar are fast becoming the face of the Democrat Party. Cortez (AOC) is fuming, not happy about this!
Just when it was getting interesting, the media has killed the story.
The policy of Google News seems to be, “If Trump bleeds, it leads. Otherwise, we move on.” Their main headlines now focus on Trump’s comments about buying Greenland.
