Karen Swallow Prior claims to have been a lifelong pro-life activist, but a search of media resources demonstrates that her advocacy is limited to talking about being a pro-life activist. Her actual advocacy is hard to pin down and her various claims about advocacy are unfounded. In Christianity Today, the feminist said that abortion was not murder and calling it murder was unchristlike. The radical animal rights activist once said that dog-fighting makes her more upset than abortion. And now the liberal professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary is telling people in Christianity Today – the publication that called for Trump’s removal – to vote against the pro-life president because he “doesn’t speak the truth in love.”
Prior, who leftists from Danny Akin to Beth Moore to Russell Moore all inexplicably insist is a “conservative,” did her part in ‘woke’ evangelicalism’s attempt to elect a Democrat to office by claiming that despite Donald Trump having all the correct views on abortion and saying all the correct things, he’s unworthy of support because he doesn’t “speak the truth in love.”
Mentioning various of Trump’s politically incorrect remarks about certain women, Prior melds together the issue of gender sensitivity and baby-butchering, making them into a singular issue. The babies, apparently, be damned.
…listening to the president echo the polished phrases which we pro-lifers have carried in our hearts and on our banners all these years, I was unsettled. I heard truth being spoken, but not love.
Then she likened support for Donald Trump with Ba’al worship.
When the Israelites elected to worship Baal, they didn’t do so with evil intent. On the contrary, they bargained that Baal would save lives because Baal was believed to have the power to bring about prosperity and fertility.
Ironically, Prior accuses Trump-supporters of appearing to worship a god very much like Molech, which is best typified by the abortion industry he opposes.
Regarding Christians who will not support the only viable pro-life option for President, Prior says, “We cannot hold in contempt those whose convictions lead them to vote differently.”
Ironically, Karen Swallow Prior is arguing that someone is still pro-life even if they’ don’t vote pro-life. Reality says something different.
Those who suffer most from the Evangelical Intelligentsia’s hatred of Donald Trump are unborn babies, who are the victims of the blathering diatribes of wicked women like Karen Swallow Prior.
