Breaking: Bethel Church Goes Gay

Bill Johnson, of Bethel Church Redding

Bethel Church used its Facebook page on Thursday to tell the LGBTQ ‘community’ that if they feel fulfilled and happy, they don’t need to change. In fact, the church stated, “The message of CHANGED has never been “All Must Change.”

Simply put, the church reached out to the LGBTQ to say that they don’t need to change.

“God loves all people, LGBTQ+ and straight. The message of CHANGED has never been “All Must Change.” We share these stories specifically for Christians who are unfulfilled in identifying as LGBTQ+. For those of you who feel fulfilled and happy as you are, we love you!

The church suggests that whether or not a homosexual should change is entirely dependent upon their own personal fulfillment. That’s self-helpism, not Christianity.

You can see the screenshot below, or go look yourself on their Facebook page.

Bethel continues to patronize the sodomy community, saying…

God doesn’t force people to change, and people – including Christians – shouldn’t force others to change, either. We stand against any and all forms of shame, manipulation, force, humiliation, or physical harm in so-called “ministry” or therapy.

Bethel continues…

CHANGED is a safe space for Christians seeking an alternative to LGBTQ+ as they follow their faith according to their personal convictions. Find their stories at www.changedmovement.com

Changed is a ‘ministry’ designed to present Christianity as a lifestyle enhancement for homosexuals. A quick reading of the website reveals no use of the words sin or repentance or any of their respective synonyms. The website presents the Gospel as an ‘alternative’ to the gay lifestyle, but as also as a possible addition to it.

Contrary to Changed, the Bible’s message is that “all must change.”

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [csanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

Thankfully, the church’s Facebook thread is full of commenters lamenting their new, politically correct stance on sodomy.

Bethel Church is known for all kinds of fanciful tales of supernatural miracles, including angel feathers and fog coming out of the ventilation systems. It’s a regular occasion for Bethel pastors to regale their audiences with stories of supernatural healings.

And yet, in spite of their many tales of leg lengthenings and psychosomatic healings, it seems that Bethel Church in Redding has given up on the Holy Spirit’s power to sanctify sinners.
