A Communist, A Socialist, and A Democrat Walk Into a Bar. The Lesser of Two Evils or A Wasted Vote?

Guest Post

Stop me if you already heard this joke.

I heard Dick Chaney say that we are actually voting for a Communist, a Socialist and a Democrat running as a Republican. I thought to myself this sounds like a bad joke, and then I realized that this was what was passing for the best hope for America today. Then I heard the old line about having to vote for the lesser of two evils.

So when I heard this in reference to Donald Trump, I started thinking, is this the best we can hope for? As a Christian do I just settling for the lesser of two evils? Am I wasting a vote, or worse actually voting for the “enemy” if I vote third-party or don’t vote? I have heard Mike Reagan, Mike Huckabee and every news reporter and pastor alive say “We are Not voting for pastor-in-chief.” That got me thinking: does God have anything to say about the moral character of our leaders and who we are to allow to lead us?

One of my favorite ministers of the Word of God is Charles H. Spurgeon. He spoke about the issue of the responsibility of ethical and Christ-centered voting. He preached using Hebrews 11:24-25.Spurgeon denounced the practices of compromise and capitulation from that one Scriptural source. He believed we must be good stewards in voting. He said,

Let us whenever we shall have the opportunity of using the right of voting, use it as in the sight of Almighty God, knowing that for everything we shall be brought into account, and for that amongst the rest, seeing that we are entrusted with it.

He believed we should vote as if God were standing there watching us, and He is.

Let’s face it, there is not a lot that you and I can do in the political arena and in this world to foster true change. But we can stand on God’s Word and refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils and instead demand that a Godly man represents us. Only then can we truly see a change in the direction of our nation. As Andrew Rappaport has often said, “God exist and He has spoken.” We know what God would have us do, it’s written down for us and we need to trust Him not political compromise for the greater good. But this requires that we begin right here in the house of The Lord.

It means that we must judge ourselves and repent of listening to those who are leading us to compromise. And make no mistake, when Christians stand on God’s Word, the Huckabees and Grahams and all those “voices of reason” will come out of the woodwork and tell us not to be too brash or too quick. Be reasonable and not too judgmental.

Have you ever noticed that every time the people of God get on fire for the Word of God, the ice bucket brigade comes running to put out our fire? This is no accident, it has always been the tactic of Satan to put his minions in place that will call for Christians to be reserved, and to push for less than holiness.

The Nazis and church leaders who compelled the people to compromise and keep the quiet and calm as they took over and murdered millions. The Progressive Liberals are still doing that today in the name of women’s health, reproductive right, abortion rights, LGBT rights, transgender rights, and now bathroom rights for gender selective perverts.

Make no mistake this is a revolution to take the nation, and destroy Christianity.
Andrew Rappaport said the Nazis started by battling the Jews and they had to continue that battle or they would have lost their power. Today the Liberals from all parties are converging to fight the Christians and they will have to keep fighting to stay in power, this is about wiping out Christianity.

According to the Holocaust Museum. The general tactic by the leadership of both Protestant and Catholic churches in Germany was caution with respect to protest and compromise with the Nazi state leadership where possible.

Spurgeon said “Of two evils, choose neither,” He said Christians must turn from the endless cycle of voting for the lesser of evils and expecting an unrighteous act to produce a righteous result. From a communist to a cultist, choosing the lesser of evils is still evil, and never should we do evil that good may come.”

He also said,

let us remember that we are our own governors, to a great degree, and that if at the next election we should choose wrong governors we shall have nobody to blame but ourselves, however wrongly they may afterwards act unless we exercise all prudence and prayer to Almighty God to direct our hearts to a right choice in this matter.

Spurgeon believed that we are responsible for who we elect to lead us, but we aren’t voting for pastor-in-chief right?

According to Hebrews 11:24-25 Moses refused to compromise with the worldly kingdoms of wickedness, and he could have had the Pharaoh’s ear as His son and advisor, but Moses esteemed God rather than men.

Does God’s Word indicate what qualities we should look for in a governmental leader?
God guided Moses through his father in law. Exodus 18:21 says,

Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.

Moses established the leadership of the land, and they were to be from among the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy, hate bribes, and good leaders.
Deuteronomy 17:14-20 tells us that God approved of the standards for rulers and added that a ruler must not be greedy, power hungry, misguided, or a lover of wealth. Further, he must be the husband of one wife, and he must not be a foreigner.

Proverbs 29:4 says “By justice a king builds up the land, but he who exacts gifts tears it down.” If we continue to compromise and hope for the best, it will only get worse. And I for one cannot vote for a moral-less and godless leader.

This season we are faced with a Socialist who wants to lead the people in coveting and greed and he says it is good to take from those who work and give it to the government so they can redistribute the wealth.

A Communist who wants to dominate the people by establishing the leadership that will give the people the immorality that they want, in exchange for the power that the party wants. All those people have to do is give up their freedom.

And we finally are faced with an Idealistic Fascist, a true Democrat. One who is an unrepentant professing Christian who lacks any morals, who is opportunistic and power-mad–and he poses as a Republican.

Make no mistake the progress here is not towards greater freedom, but less. The progress is not for better conditions for Christians but an end to Christianity altogether.
Brothers and sisters, I know that all leaders will not be Christians, but to say that we cannot stand and fight the good fight of faith. To say that we should be willing to lessen the standards that God has established. To say we are not voting for pastor-in-chief is to say that there is no moral standard and that we can all act any way we want to and still call ourselves the children of God.

‘The real reason professing Christians are so quick to compromise is that we want the easiest way to goodness without pure godliness. We want just enough of God to be moral in some things, but not enough of God to be willing to call out sin and demand that We the People submit to our Creator who has endowed us with Inalienable rights. We want rulers who are just as flawed as we are so that we don’t have to worry about seeking after holiness and purity and righteousness.

We have been comfortable with the stuff that Satan has given to us and we don’t want to give it up. If you are going to follow Christ, you must be willing to give Satan back everything that he ever gave you.

2 Corinthians 6:14-16 warns us,

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God.

We are warned about the compromise that the world wants us to make with them. And we know that there is something called the Hegelian Dialectic Process. Some say it was started by George Hegel but they are wrong, it was started in the garden, when Satan asked Eve and the Adam to compromise truth in exchange for a lie, and the took a bite.

God gave us a Book called the Wisdom Books because they were for the purpose of making you wise. In the book of Proverbs, God has given us a great wealth of education on what to seek in leadership.

Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation, ‎but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Proverbs 28:12 “When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, people hide themselves.”

Proverbs 28:28 “When the wicked rise, people hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.”

Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

‎Brothers and sisters, we are to walk in the light as He is in the light, having now fellowship with darkness and forsaking the deeds of darkness. And you will be hated and ridiculed for it, but in the end, you will be able to count it far greater riches to shun the world and have Christ than to shun Christ and have the world.

There is actually only one political party on display, and that is the Socialist Party of America. Both sides are obviously working together for one goal and they are trying to get you to put at least one of their party leaders in power.

John Calvin warned us about wicked rulers. He said, “When God judges a nation, He give them wicked rulers.”

It is the duty of every true Christian to humble themselves and seek repentance and reconciliation with God on behalf of our families, our churches, our towns, and our nation. It is the duty of every Christian to reject those seeking leadership without morals, character, and those who are not steady and strong. We must also stand against those who are obviously evil and wicked leaders.

Beloved, we must call out as one voice that we shall not go quietly into the night, we will rage at the dying of the light. We will not compromise with the evil works of darkness. We will not find and accord with those that hate God and deny basic morality. We must proclaim that will never vote for anyone who asks us to have a friendship with the deeds of Satan.

We believe that God exists and He has told us what we are to seek in those who would rule over us, and until someone stands up who will lead based on a strong moral ground and values that we hold true. Our only vote will be one of “No Confidence,” because God forbids us from placing out confidence in this world or in ungodly leaders.

My dear church family, the best hope for America is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a Holy church purged from sin. One who proclaims the truth of God and submits to the authority of God in all things. We must burn bright with the light of purity and holiness. We must stand on Thus Sayeth The Lord. And we must hold the banner of the gospel in all things. Who will stand and burn bright for the glory of God, and stand against the darkness.
