Karen Swallow Prior, a self-pronounced “evangelical feminist” (link) and animal rights activist (end factory farms even if “the economy of our country be damned”) and “calling abortion murder is unchristlike” (link) research fellow for the ERLC…

Barnabas Piper, employee of Lifeway, best known for being the formerly-troubled youth of megastar pastor John Piper…

Frank Turk, an insecure former blogger with a Napoleon complex who hasn’t found an evangelical celebrity who he wouldn’t like a pat on the head from…

Leo Percer, a Liberty University professor who vehemently defended Ergun Caner back in the day (good call, Leo)…

The Evangelical Intelligentsia, and those who desire to be their pets, are some of the nastiest, most vile, substance-lacking, hollow-souled and hypocritical people that breathe God’s oxygen. As a warning to those who wish to do polemics and warn the church about these proprietors of theological Downgrade, these doctrinal invertebrates are the equivalent of Marie Antoinette wondering why the proletariat don’t eat more cake. You will warn people of their compromises at the risk of your own personal reputation. Polemics is not the  job for the thin-skinned.

Southern Baptist employees and representatives, like Prior and Piper, other evangelical “leaders” and professional social media lurkers like Turk, being nasty to the rank and file in a way that would make the ‘Mean Girls’ blush. Maybe that’s why so many of us are leaving. Sadly, these types won’t notice until their bread and circuses run out.

If only I had murdered my child or been a homosexual, perhaps Karen Swallow Prior would treat me more compassionately. But alas, I’ve been called far worse by far better people.
